Critique Cards
Critique Cards are helpful tools when teaching students about how to conduct a respectful critique. A general pre-critique discussion should happen before critique day to go over some of these questions:
- What is a critique?
- What is the purpose of a critique?
- How can we get the most out of a critique?
- How can we be as respectful as possible?
Critique Cards are a way to guide students’ thoughts and comments towards a productive, respectful, and insightful critique session, and are hopefully open-ended enough to allow room for the unexpected. The rules and logistics can easily be adapted to fit the needs of many different classes.
